360Giving Workshops

We run workshops to increase confidence, knowledge and skills using data.

Workshops

360Giving workshops are informal learning sessions which are designed to increase your confidence, knowledge and skills in using data and to grow your understanding of 360Giving’s tools and publishing process.

Our online workshops are for non-experts. They are intended to be a safe learning environment for people of all abilities, whether you are totally new to data or want to brush up on your existing skills.

Anyone can take part in our workshops and you don’t have to already be publishing data using the 360Giving Data Standard to take part.

If you have any questions on 360Giving’s workshops contact comms@threesixtygiving.org.

360Giving Location data – How to use it well

Wednesday 7th December 2022, 10:30am – 12:30pm
Cost: £50

With Marion Galley and David Kane

Understanding where grants go is a key way that open grants data can help shape the future of charities, communities and civil society. In this session on using 360Giving location data (and using it well), attendees will find out how the location of grants is represented in 360Giving data, and how to get the most out of that data. You’ll learn how to make sense of geographic data, and how to combine it with other datasets such as the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) using Excel.

With support from our expert hosts Marion Galley and David Kane, attendees will be able to explore existing grants location data and practise techniques for using it.

This workshop is designed for people who are using 360Giving data. This could be people who work for grantmaking organisations, or researchers and analysts working in public policy, research or academia. The workshop is designed for people with some existing knowledge of 360Giving data and grantmaking, but who want to know more about how to make the most out of geography data.

A limited number of bursaries are available for this workshop – email info@threesixtygiving.org to find out more.
