Join the open grants movement

We are a charity that helps organisations to publish open, standardised grants data, and supports people to use it to improve charitable giving

Helpdesk Officer

We are a small charity with a big impact. We’ve come a long way in seven years since we launched, with over £175bn of grants data now published by over 240 funders using the 360Giving Data Standard. Our tools and resources further our vision for grantmaking in the UK to be more informed, effective and strategic, by making the data easier to access and understand. Find out more about our work here.

We are now at an exciting point in 360Giving’s journey, with an ambitious three-year strategy that marks a step-change for the organisation, as we work to shift the norm from funders sharing data to using it, and create a permanent transformation in data culture and practice.

About the role

We are looking for a Helpdesk Officer to provide support and guidance to enable funders to publish high quality open grants data using the 360Giving Data Standard. This will include acting as main point of contact for all enquiries to the 360Giving Helpdesk by email and telephone, developing and sharing guidance and preparing feedback on 360Giving data, providing online 1-to-1 support calls, as well as supporting users of 360Giving data and tools to access our products and services.

This is a public facing, hands-on role which will engage directly with 360Giving’s key stakeholders, and play a crucial part in outreach to potential and existing publishers. This post reports to the Head of Support and Services and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on data work and has a love for providing customer support.

About you

We are looking for an outstanding individual to join our small friendly team in a role that will play a crucial part in delivering our goal to increase the amount, quality and usefulness of data available for informed decision-making.

We are looking for someone interested in charity and funding data, with experience of providing accessible technical and practical support to people with a wide range of data skills and experience. This is a varied and interesting role for a good team-player who is customer-focused and conscientious, with excellent communication and customer service skills. We are looking for someone keen to learn and work with initiative to become the main point of contact for 360Giving’s developing Helpdesk, able to manage the day-to-day functions and resolve non-routine and complex support queries.

The ideal candidate will be an adaptable and proactive customer service professional with an excellent working knowledge of Excel who enjoys helping people to resolve issues and develop their confidence and skills. You’ll be an organised and self-motivated team player who is flexible and thrives working in a varied role as part of a small team. Most importantly, you’ll have a passion for using data to make a real difference and be committed to 360Giving’s mission.

We are particularly interested in improving the diversity of our team. We recognise the positive value of diversity, and want to promote equality and challenge discrimination. It is vital that our work reflects the considerations for the breadth of the sector that the data records. So we welcome applications from all suitably skilled and experienced people, and particularly from candidates from black and minoritised backgrounds, who are underrepresented in the philanthropy and technology sectors we are working in, and in our current staff team. This is a permanent position which is not subject to additional funding being secured. As such, this role is not vulnerable.
